Sustainability
We are working on ways to make energy and urban water economically, environmentally and socially sustainable.
Continuing pressure on our natural resources from human activities makes it vital that we meet the challenges of ecologically sustainable development.
The two key challenges for our Department are:
- conserving water; and
- combating climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The NSW Government has implemented a broad range of measures designed to address climate change, including a new NSW Renewable Energy Target policy. Download the NSW Renewable Energy Target Explanatory Paper for more information.
